It is with great regret that we record the death of Bruce Burnett (Corpus Christi 1975) in February 2022. Bruce sailed for Cambridge in 1977 (won) and captained the Cambridge team in 1978 (won). He was elected a member of the Society in 1979.

Sorry to belatedly learn this very sad news. Having been opposing captains in 1978 Bruce and I became fellow Swallow owners in the 1990’s and subsequently met intermittently at Generations events. Whilst rivalry continued friendship developed! He will be greatly missed.
Immensely sad. Bruce had a great career in the Army and was an excellent sailor and a generally good chap.
