This page sets out the O&CSS Data Protection and Privacy policies and procedures for the information of members.
O&CSS Data Protection and Privacy – Information Maintained
When members are elected to the Society, they supply the following information: name, University, college, year of matriculation, email address, telephone numbers, and postal address. This data is maintained on the Society’s database, along with year of election, type of membership, and any administrative notes of relevance.
The information is maintained on a permanent basis, except where a member requests its removal. Where a member dies, becomes uncontactable, or resigns, the data is transferred to a different section of the database so that proper historic records can be maintained.
O&CSS Data Protection and Privacy – Use of Information
Communication with members is the major use of the data. Except for sharing from time to time with the OUYC Life Members’ and CUCrC Alumni Supporters’ functions, the data is never used for ‘third party’ purposes. The Club also facilitates communication between individual members, but in doing so does not release more than a few personal contact details without prior permission.
O&CSS Data Protection and Privacy – Control
You are in control. If you have any queries, wish to restrict data processing or sharing, or do not want to be contacted by the Society, please inform us. We will publish any changes we make to this Privacy Notice and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
If you have any concerns about data protection or personal privacy, please contact the Hon Secretary, who acts as Data Controller for member data.
This website also uses some minimal WordPress plugin cookies for Google Analytics data collection.
