Vendee Globe News – February 2021

December 2020 News:

Commiserations to Sam Davies – out of the Vendee Globe after hitting an underwater object near the Cape of Good Hope. However, she is determined to finish the course and has set out again from Cape Town after repairs.

Miranda Merron is battling on in the Southern Ocean in 23rd place (the fleet is spread out between south of Madagascar and New Zealand) in spite of gear problems. Full details of the race are on the Vendee Globe website.

February 2021 News:

Miranda finished 22nd out of 33 starters and 25 finishers on 17 February 2021 – congratulations Miranda!

Sam is nearing the finish with two competitors behind her although she set out in last last after retiring at Cape Town in mid-December. Well done Sam – determination counts for everything!
