Autumn News – October 2018

Oxford Current Students ran out clear winners of the 2018 Generations Event held at Farmoor on Saturday 29th September. They were hotly pursued by the Oxford 70’s team, with the match between the two being the decider. A big thank-you to Lottie Rapson and all the Oxford students for making the day such a success.

AGM and Annual Dinner
The annual Dinner in Kellogg College was as successful and convivial as ever. Many thanks to Chris Pugh for once again arranging the event. Photographs of the day and the dinner are on the website – along with videos of the Bell Trophy presentation and the Society’s loving cup ceremony. Compulsive viewing for all!

Revised guidelines for the election of sailors to the Society were approved at the AGM. They are also available on the website.

420 TR Worlds
The CUCrC bid to run the International 420 Class Team Racing Youth World Championships in August 2020, in conjunction with Grafham Water SC and the Society, has been accepted – so the event is on!

In spite of its title, the event is not a huge one (8 to 12 teams), but it represents a great opportunity to raise the profile of team racing in a major international class. Watch this space and, if you have any thoughts or suggestions, please get in touch with the CUCrC.
